Getting this information out to new volunteers is important. Maintaining and growing the volunteer base is an issue for many clubs. We all know it's not much 'fun' when the responsibility for the different duties/jobs 'shrink's to include only a few.
Yesterday afternoon, the Nakina Sno Club held its AGM. We had 17 folks come out of which over 10 were new people! We were able to 'open the door' to capture their interest and get them involved in the Club by describing the time involved, flexibility and duties/roles. The executive for our Club will essentially remain the same although we have now included our new members in our work parties where brushing etc is required.
Bring on the snow!
Regards,
Jay Daiter, Secretary,
Nakina Sno Club
The Kenogamisis Club would like to thank the following for all their efforts in assisting our club to complete the signage requirements from Longlac in the east to the Greer road to the North and Beardmore to the west. Without your volunteer services this undertaking would not have been accomplished. So a big Thank You to all. Gaby Boulanger and Laureat Lavoie for helping with the Kenogamisis section on the Greenstone Loop. Brian, Carole-Lyne, Logan and Evan Davis, Gary Stanert, Jay Gignac, Andrew Seaton, Dave Davis, Elgin Ratushniak, Diane Magee, and Charlie Thibodeau for all your efforts erecting signage from Longlac,Beardmore,Geraldton and the Greenstone Loop. Job well done gang and thanks again.
Well what the snow club needs is as many volunteers as possible. Young volunteers such as yourself, so the older volunteers don't drop dead on the trail! ;)
